OV40 – Reliable Spring Check Valve & Inline Check Valve for Clean Water Lines
The OV40 is a compact spring check valve designed as an inline check valve for horizontal pipe systems. It serves as an effective backflow preventer for cold and warm water up to 90°C. The body is made of corrosion-resistant POM, with a 304 stainless steel spring and food-grade EPDM seal. Fully automated production ensures every water check valve leaves the factory with zero defects. Among common check valve types, the OV40 stands out for its low cracking pressure and silent operation.

Primary Applications & Typical Equipment
Unlike larger swing valves, this spring check valve responds instantly to flow changes, making it ideal for pulsating or intermittent flow systems. Typical installations include:
Household pressure tanks – Installed before the pressure switch to avoid backflow contamination. Works with Amtrol, Well-X-Trol, or Flamco tanks.
Reverse osmosis (RO) systems – Acts as a backflow preventer on the reject water line. Fits systems by Pentair, Culligan, or EcoWater.
Portable pressure washers – Prevents detergent back-siphonage into the fresh water supply. Equipment: Karcher, Nilfisk, or Husqvarna.
The OV40's inline body design (same inlet and outlet axis) allows quick replacement of failed brass or plastic valves without repiping.

Instant response – The 304 stainless steel spring ensures the poppet closes as soon as forward flow stops. This prevents water hammer better than gravity-operated check valve types.
POM material benefit – Unlike metal water check valve bodies, POM never rusts or scales. It remains smooth even after years of hot water exposure.
Food-grade sealing – The EPDM disc seal is WRAS-approved and maintains elasticity up to 80°C. No taste or odor transfer.
Low cracking pressure – Only 0.02 bar required to open, suitable for low-head systems (e.g., rainwater harvesting).
The OV40 is a true inline check valve – the spring-loaded piston moves axially within the bore, ensuring perfect alignment and zero side-load wear. This design offers two levels of protection: the spring forces the poppet against the seat, and the precision-molded POM guide prevents tilting. For critical applications requiring redundant backflow prevention, two OV40 units can be installed in series, creating a simple backflow preventer zone.
Our factory uses fully automated injection molding with integrated pick-and-place robots. All OV40 components are assembled on a rotary indexing table with torque control and leak testing at each station. Human intervention is limited to raw material loading and final packaging. This automation guarantees that every spring check valve has identical spring force, seal compression, and opening pressure. Customers receive batch-to-batch consistency without performance drift.
Traditional brass inline check valve models often fail due to spring corrosion or seat calcification. The OV40 spring check valve eliminates these issues with all-plastic wetted parts and a fully encapsulated stainless spring. It is also 50% lighter, reducing stress on plastic piping systems.
